Bronchitis is the inflammation of passages in the lungs known as the bronchi. Upon inflammation, airways become restricted. This causes coughing & breathlessness. Those who smoke are more prone to chronic bronchitis and may find it harder to recover from bouts of bronchitis.
Symptoms include wheezing, coughing with phlegm, and soreness in the chest. If you have bronchitis, get plenty of rest and drink plenty of fluids. Avoid smoke. A doctor can prescribe a bronchodilator or stronger cough syrup if necessary. While antibiotics are not necessary, they may be prescribed to prevent any further complications.
